Email scam checker

Is this email a scam?

Paste a suspicious email. We check who really sent it, its links and its attachments.

Best: paste the original with its headers, so we can check who really sent it. Gmail: open the email, the three dots, "Show original", "Copy to clipboard". Outlook: the three dots, "View", "View message source". Apple Mail: View, Message, Raw Source. Pasting just the visible text works too.

Or forward it to check@check.hrsexposure.com and get the answer by email. A few a day free; send it as an attachment so we can check who really sent it.

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

How can I tell if an email really comes from the company it claims?

Paste the original with its headers. We check whether the sender's domain vouched for it (SPF, DKIM and DMARC), whether the sender or its links imitate a brand, and where replies would go.

How do I get the original email with its headers?

Gmail: open the email, the three dots, "Show original". Outlook: the three dots, "View", "View message source". Apple Mail: View, Message, Raw Source.

Is it safe to paste a suspicious email here?

Yes. Pasting it does not open its links or attachments, and we do not store it.

What should I do with a scam email?

Do not click, reply or open attachments. Report it as phishing in your email app, then delete it. If you clicked and typed a password, change that password now.
